Routine Appointments

All our regular weekday surgeries are by appointment only. Please see our reception staff, telephone, or book on line during opening times on 01562 881700 to arrange an appointment to see the doctor or nurse.

The doctors will try their best to give enough time to each patient but if, for example, two members of one family try to be seen in a single appointment, other patients will be kept waiting. In this respect please make a separate appointment for each person wishing to be seen.

If you think that your problem may take an unusually long time, please inform reception so that allowances can be made.

If your condition is non-urgent you can expect us to try to accommodate you with an appointment within 2 days, although at busy periods this may not be possible. You may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular doctor.

You can expect to see a nurse within 2 days.

Other Information

Same-Day Appointments

If you have an urgent medical problem that you feel needs attention on the same day, please explain this to reception. When you call, our staff will take your name and telephone number and the nature of the problem. All your information will be treated confidentially.

Practice Nurses

Our practice nurses are available by appointment for various treatments, health promotion advice and screening, including smears, immunisations and vaccinations. They are also able to advise on family planning, travel and chronic disease management such as asthma, COPD, diabetes and heart disease.

The nurses are qualified to advise and treat many minor conditions and it may prove quicker to see a practice nurse than wait for a consultation with your doctor, who is always available if you have any cause for concern.

When booking an appointment with a practice nurse, our reception staff may need to ask you the reason for an appointment in order to determine how much time to allocate.

Telephone Advice

If you wish to speak to a doctor or nurse on the telephone it is usual for them to call you back at the end of the morning or evening surgery. If you need more urgent advice, please advise the receptionist who will contact the duty doctor immediately.

Self Check-in

The surgery has an automated self check-in touch screen on the wall in reception. This is a simple to use system that enables the patient to check themselves into our appointments system. Should you feel uncomfortable about using it, you can obtain help, or check-in at reception in the traditional manner.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else or cancel your appointment on line.
